Autocourse Annuals

Autocourse is a highly collectable series of annuals covering motor racing and Formula One in particular. Now in its 59th year of publication, Autocourse has an unrivaled heritage when it comes to motorsport.

The first edition of Autocourse appeared as a quarterly review of motorsport in 1951. The new publication aimed "to provide the most complete data obtainable with interesting and authentic information, settle arguments and provide countless hours of interesting study and amusement."

In 1959 the first Autocourse in annual form was produced as a paperback.  Hardback annuals were published from 1961/62. With contents ranging from detailed race-by-race reports, statistics and technical illustrations to vibrant features and stunning photography, Autocourse continues to be the must-have publication for all serious motorsport fans.

Jim Clark introduced a tradition to the annuals in 1963 whereby the F1 World Champion would write the foreword for that year. This tradition has only been broken once, in 1991, when Senna refused to pen his piece following a dispute over the annual's 'Top Ten Drivers' feature. (The 'Top Ten Drivers' began in 1966, the editor deciding his 'Top Ten Drivers' of each season.)

Given the prestigious history of Autocourse, it has long been established as a genuine collector's item, particularly the early years. It is widely respected by the entire motorsport community and can boast names including Jackie Stewart, Murray Walker and Ron Dennis as devotees.

St Mary's Books is pleased to stock a range of Autocourse Annuals, including some of the rare early years from the 1960s and 1970s. Don't miss this opportunity to own a copy of such a world famous publication.
