With 70 illustrations engraved on wood by M. Meaulle. From designs by M.M. H. Scott, Meyer, Ferdinandus etc. Attractively bound in original decorative green cloth with gilt titles and decoration to the front board and spine. Spine faded, minor offsetting to the front board but still presents well overall. Previous owners neat inscription to the ffep. Some foxing to the endpapers and page edges otherwise contents clean and bright. Binding tight. A nice example of the particulary scarce English edition, WorldCat lists just one copy in the British Library and no record of it ever having appeared at auction.
