Wherein the arguments of the learned Isaac Vossius and others, for a topical deluge are examined; and some vulgar errors, relating to that grand catastrophe are discovered. First edition, in the original paper covered boards. Spine missing but binding still holding, rear board just a little weak. Rear board with some paper loss but good overall considering age. Pages untrimmed. Ffep almost detached. Some minor foxing, otherwise contents in very good clean condition. xvi + 355pp+ index. A scarce book, not seen at auction since 2004 where it sold at Sothebys for just over £500. Voss expresses his lack of belief in the flood in 1661 on the grounds that there is not enough water on the Earth, which Cockburn, a firm believer in the flood, attempts to disprove.
