Undated, circa 1860s, believed to be first edition with advertisements to rear. Hardback clothbound with decoratively embossed cover and gilt tooling to spine. Engraved frontispiece in blue colour. Engraved vignette to title page. Profusely illustrated throughout, with 32 unpaginated pages of plates. Cover is rubbed and water stained to hinge. Rubbing and bumping to spine. Endpapers appear toned and mottled, possibly water or damp stained. Pages generally clean and bright. Binding nice and tight. Nice example of this rare volume. viii + 217 + ix pp.
