Henry Cooke, D.D., LL.D., minister of the Presbyterian Church, May Street, Belfast. Original full calf leather binding with blind tooled decorative border and vignette to cover. Five raised bands to spine with decorative blind tooling and blind tooled title. Bevelled edges. All edge marbling to pages. Marbled endpapers. Tissue guarded engraved frontispiece and engraved pictorial title page. Illustrated throughout. Tipped in family register plates have been filled in. Moderate to heavy rubbing and scuffing to cover edges. Boards are moderately scuffed and scratched. Fading to leather toward the spine and spine itself. Some lifting to spine and to corners. Crude tape repair to front board. Binding otherwise relatively tight. Pages are a little toned to edges with occasional spotting. Some of the pages are foxed but this is not throughout. Dulling to the marbled edges. Overall good to fair condition. Would have been a fine volume when new. Lovely copy in need of some work. Heavy book may require extra postage.
