Printed embossed pictures and border with gilt title. Bevelled edges. Top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed. Neat ink inscription to ffep. Signature and limitation to verso of half title. Full colour illustrated frontispiece with captioned tissue guard. Additional 69 illustrations throughout. Spine darkened. Shelf wear to edges, spine edges a little bumped. Rubbing to cover. Still bright and striking. Foxing to endpapers. Cracking to gutter and front board starting. Pages have light toning to the edges, and faint foxing occasionally throughout, mostly marginal and to tissue guards. Otherwise a smart clean copy. Overall very good condition. x + 293 pp. William Martin Conway, 1st Baron Conway of Allington 1856-1937 was an English politician and mountaineer, who made expeditions in Europe as well as in South America and Asia and wrote several works.
