Undated, first edition 1948. Hardback clothbound with printed title to cover and spine. Original pictorial dust jacket, unclipped. Signed in ink by the author to ffep: 'To Stanley Thomas / with best wishes / From the Author / A. O. Pollard'. Stamp below inscription. Full colour illustrated frontispiece. Several text illustrations throughout. Jacket is worn and chipped to edges with small loss to bottom of spine and lower edge of rear cover. Tape to verso of spine. Cloth is discoloured in patches. Pages are very lightly toned throughout. Edge of text block and very edges of pages are spotted. Otherwise clean internally and binding is sound. Jacket colours are nice and bright. Overall good condition. 252 pp. Sweet collectable copy.
