Hardback bound in full vellum with beautiful gilt picture to cover and gilt title to cover and spine. Top edge gilt, remainder untrimmed. Full colour tipped in illustrated frontispiece with captioned tissue guard and an additional 50 tipped in plates with tissue guards throughout. Several line drawings within the text as well. One of only number 7 of 250 copies issued, SIGNED on the limitation page by Arthur Rackham. Original binding is lovely and bright, lacks silk ties. Prelims a little toned with minor marginal staining, remainder of pages are clean and bright. Overall very good condition. Contains bookplate and coat of arms of Hamberg merchant and Senator Johannes August Lattmann (1858-1936), who was involved in various welfare institutions in his hometown. Rip Van Winkle was the first Arthur Rackham book to be issued in this now iconic limited edition format. With a low print run this is a very collectable and also beautiful item which would enhance any collection.
