Illustrated By: Kay Nielsen

Published By: George H. Doran Company 1924 (New York)

First thus edition hardback bound in original black cloth. Pictorial paste-down to front board printed in metallic silver, black and orange; very decorative. Silver stamped title and motifs to spine. Pictorial endpapers. Full colour tipped in frontispiece with caption. Pictorial motif to title page. Additional eleven full colour tipped in plates. Line drawings throughout as well as decorative title headers. A touch of rubbing to front board. Spine a little more rubbed, with silver titling chipped in places. Clean and bright internally. Overall very good condition. Kay Nielsen (1886-1957) was a Danish illustrator, best known for his contributions to Disney's Fantasia. He published only five works, all of which were beautifully illustrated, indicative of the Golden Age of illustration of which he was part. Striking book, would make a lovely gift.
