Undated, presumed first edition of 1854. Original red cloth boards in good condition with decorative gilt tooling and titles to the spine Small gilt pictorial to the centre of the front board slightly faded. Top of the spine worn with a small piece partly detached, fraying to the base. All edges gilt. Binding a little weak. Pages are generally clean although age-toned. Illustrated with thirty seven engravings. pp. viii + 244. Overall a good copy.
