The Greek Testament by Henry Alford complete in five volumes ( volume four in two parts ) Original full leather binding with ornate gilt tooling, raised bands and title bands to the spine. The leather is worn with surface wear to the boards and extremities. Spines worn with chipping to the leather on volume one and a split down the centre to volume three. All edges marble. Front and rear end-papers marble. Pencil notation to the verso of the front free end-paper to volume one. Light foxing to the front and rear end-papers with the occasional spot of foxing throughout to all five volumes. Pages otherwise are clean. Binding to volume three weak although the rest of the volumes are still fairly tight. Volume one, Fourth Edition published 1859, pp. viii + 867. Volume two, Fourth Edition, published 1861, pp. iv + 723. Volume three, Third Edition published 1862, pp. viii + 435. Volume Four part one, Second Edition published 1861, pp. viii +159 + 420. Volume Four part two, Second Edition, published 1862, pp. viii + 159 - 284 + 421-747. Overall a good set rare to find as a complete set.
