An original copperplate engraving and etching with later hand colour, this beautiful view of Stamford was published in Buck's Antiquities (1743-1774). Samuel and Nathaniel Buck were notable 18th century engravers. This panoramic prospect is richly detailed and beautifully preserved. Centrefold as issued, shading to the very edges, the odd faint age spot, otherwise vibrant. A very good example of this scarce work. Measures approx. 79.5 x 30.75 cm. In a brass colour frame.
