Illustrated Romances. With an introduction by Joseph Shaylor. Beautifully bound in green silk with gilt pictorial to the front and rear boards and ornate gilt decoration and titles to the spine. In overall good condition despite minor discolouration to the boards. There is some light loss of silk along the fore edge. Shelf wear to the top and base of the spine. Top edge of the text block gilt, fore edge un-trimmed. Pictorial end-papers. Binding a little weak with slight cracking to the rear interior hinge. Pages are very clean throughout with just the occasional spot of foxing. Beautifully illustrated with 12 full page colour plates by W. Cubitt Coke, L. M. Fisher & F.C. Tilney. pp. viii + 421. Overall a good + copy.
