Hard Back First Edition. Beautifully bound in full green cloth with decorative embossing, gilt pictorial to the front and gilt titles to the spine. In an overall good condition although there is slight discolouration to the front and rear boards. The spine has worn along the outer hinges with a small piece missing to the rear. Front free end-paper has been stuck to the front paste down and has been torn. Cracking to the internal hinges although the binding remains fairly tight. Previous owners' signature to the verso of the frontispiece with a little tape repair to the front. Rear free end-paper has been stuck to the rear paste down with some missing along the internal hinge. Pages toned with a few pages creased otherwise clean throughout. pp. 1092 + publishers' page. Overall a fair copy, with provenance from the Beeton family.
