Handsome brown leather binding with decorative borders in good condition despite a little surface wear. Ornate gilt decorative spine with titles in gilt. Marbling to the edges of the text block. Marbling also to the end papers. The pasted down front end paper has a prize bookplate - 'Blackheath and Greenwich Ladies College' dated 1872. Pages clean and bright with the occasional foxing. Includes frontispiece of author, Isaac D'israeli, father of Benjamin D'israeli, as well as torn folding plate (facsimile of Pope's handwriting). pp.582. Overall a good copy would make an ideal gift.
