Hard back First Edition. Beautifully bound in full green cloth with decorative embossing and gilt titles to the front. In overall good condition despite a little bumping to the corners. Ornate gilt decoration to the spine with shelf wear to the top and base, small hole just under "The".  Cracking to the internal hinges however the binding remains fairly tight. Previous owners' neat pencil signature to the front free end-paper. Pages toned especially to the illustrations with the occasional spot of foxing throughout otherwise a good clean copy.  Illustrated with full page black and white plates and several with-in the text. pp. vii + 552.
