Hard back First Edition. Beautifully bound in full green cloth with decorative embossing and gilt titles to the front. In overall good condition despite light bumping to the corners. Ornate gilt decoration to the spine with shelf wear to the top and base, the cloth has split along the rear outer hinge making the rear board slightly loose. Previous owners' neat pencil signature to the front free end-paper. Pages toned with the occasional spot of foxing throughout otherwise a good clean copy.  Illustrated with full page black and white plates and several with-in the text. pp. vii + 552. From the library of Major Beeton.
