Percy Bysshe Shelley; edited by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley
Ref. 114104 Edition. New Complete Edition
Published By: Ward, Lock & Co. 1889 (London)
'With his Tragedies and Lyrical Dramas. To which are added his Essays and Fragments, History of a Six Weeks' Tour Through France, Switzerland, Germany, and Holland; Letters from Abroad.' A particularly lovely edition as edited by his wife Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley. Debossed in bright gilt to the front with his signature with gilt tooling to top and bottom; spine also features gilt titling though this is dulled (see images). Includes a sweet engraved frontispiece portrait of P.B.S. and a dedication from both Shelley and his wife addressed to their only son, Percy Florence Shelley. Corners bumped, mild wear to front and back, spine bumped to extremities and faded. Deep brown endpapers with slight damp stain and foxing to feps though this does not encroach upon the main text. Inscribed 'Hilda Dyson Oct., 1950.' to ffep. Hinge cracked p. 225. Text is bright and pages clean though tanned. Overall, a good copy, especially given age.
