This fabulous early copy of Sense And Sensibility, being the 1st book published in 1811, this is the unique Bentley Standard Novels edition, with engraved frontispiece, some foxing around the frontispiece and title page. Bound in the publishers original cloth binding with blind tooled boarders patterned cloth, it was common for this type of volume to be rebound into a leather binding, this example with gilt decoration to the spine showing a floral design in gilt, with " Bentley Standard Novels" to the foot of the spine. 331 pp with Bentley's standard novels advert 4pp, interesting it goes on to break down the cost of publication Copyright £ 53,000.
