Published By: Cassell 1959 (London)

This is a story of Downey and of Downey's Africa; the story of a man who has learned and taught more of the ways of wild animals than perhaps anyone else living today. In these pages he takes the reader on a stalk up to a watchful and furious rhino, or he can be followed into a patch of bush where a wounded buffalo waits to ambush its pursuers.
Bound with striking red boards and gilt title to spine. Black and white pictorial dust jacket is in good, clean condition with very little shelf wear to edges. Pages throughout are generally clean except for an inscription by previous owner to front pasted-down endpaper and page 3 (chapter one). pp. xviii + 168. Would make a lovely gift.
