First Edition Thus. Hard Back. A beautiful copy of this much loved classic by Charles Kingsley illustrated by Jessie Willcox Smith. Original rich green cloth boards with pretty pictorial in gilt to the front and gilt titles to the spine. The boards are generally in good condition despite a little bumping to the corners and to the fore-edge of the front board. There is a slight lean to the spine with minor shelf wear to the top and base. Internally the binding is tight. The pages are clean throughout although with the occasional spot of foxing. Beautifully illustrated with 12 full page colour plates and several line drawings in green throughout. pp. ix + 240. Overall  a lovely copy.
