Prize binding in crimson full leather with double ruled gilt border and blind stamped triple crest with foliage and encircling Latin motto. Additional highly detailed gilt decoration to the spine's six panels and banding with title on black leather. Particularly stunning marbled endpapers with gold streaks. Pages are clean with partial foxing. Frontispiece depicts Dryden with tissue guard. Marbled text block has faded slightly, but still looks good. Boards have darkened in places with rubbing to the edges, gilding still very bright. pp.xxxii+575. Very good. A comprehensive volume for 17th Century poetry fans.
