Scarce first edition of T. E. Lawrence's masterful account of the War in Arabia 1916-18. Original dust jacket with elegant type still functional and protected by a transparent wrapper. The frontispiece of Lawrence is from a portrait by Augustus John and is protected by a loose tissue guard. Many other full-page portraits by different artists accompany the text. Pages are clean despite tanning to the endpapers. Glorious fold-out map included. The jacket, price-clipped, has small rips to the edges, as well as a little creasing to the rear. Several small marks also visible but not obtrusive. The spine has darkened, but the binding is very tight. Text block rather ragged. pp.445. Very good overall.
