Hardback. Beautifully bound in rich green leather with gilt and blind embossed decoration to the front. Ornate gilt decoration to the spine and blind embossed decoration to the rear. The leather is lightly worn and the spine has slightly faded, otherwise, in good condition with the gilt still bright. All edges of the text block gilt and still bright. Internally the binding is tight with brown endpapers which show no bookplates or inscriptions. The pages are clean throughout with just the occasional spot of foxing. The frontispiece and half title page are beautifully illustrated complete with a tissue guard and several further illustrations throughout, with each page of text encased in a red-lined border pp. xxiv + 502. Overall a stunning copy.
