Wisden Cricketers' Almanacks are without doubt the most respected cricket publication ever - often referred to as 'The Bible of Cricket'. They are a highly collectable item: In Wisdens centenary year of 1963, a full set of Almanacks in good condition was said to be worth £250. Nowadays a complete set in such condition could cost well in excess of £100,000. Collectors include Sir Tim Rice, the Oscar-winning lyricist. They are a book enjoyed by many people for different reasons, whilst some are traditional in their collecting needs, wanting a full run of original hardbacks for example, others take joy in actually reading the Almanacks, or in finding a Wisden in poor condition and getting it restored or rebound. Given the rarity of certain editions, some budding collectors might wish to get something for every year initially with a view to upgrading as and when superior copies become available. Those of you who are fortunate enough to possess nearly every Wisden, except for that elusive year, will find our regularly updated stock pages invaluable in your search.
