First facsimile edition. Hardback clothbound in matching stiff cloth slipcase. Blind tooled border to cover and spine, gilt tooled title to spine. Facsimile engravings throughout. Very little rubbing and shelf wear, fine condition. The Coverdale Bible was the first complete Modern English translation of the Bible in full. The 1537 folio edition carried the royal license, and was therefore the first officially approved English translation, as well as the first to be printed in England. Engraved title page often attributed to Hans Holbein. Lovely copy. Large book may require extra postage.
