Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone true first softback edition
J. K. Rowling
Ref. 109227 Edition. First Edition
Published By: Bloomsbury 1997 (London)
The book that started it all. The true first edition of the first book in the Harry Potter series, being a first edition, first impression. Number line 10-1 on the copyright page as called for. Other points include: repeated '1 wand' on page 53; misspelt 'philospher'; Wendy Cooling's review. Original publisher's pictorial printed covers. Crease to both fore-corners of cover, minor lifting to lower left corner of rear cover, small scuff to lower rear hinge, upper spine is sunned, light shelf wear to edges. Half title a touch toned, page edges have very faint toning. Internally clean; it is common for this particular book to have very toned page edges and this copy is comparably bright. The binding is lovely and vibrant, and despite the few flaws it remains a smart copy. The book has been read but has been looked after. These paperback editions are often very creased and thumbed; this particular copy is comparably sharp. Very good overall. One of only 5015 copies produced at the same time as the hardback, this true first edition has become exceptionally rare and remains the most sought after book in the world. Harry Potter has gone on to become a successful multi-billion dollar industry, and the book that started it all is the pinnacle of any Harry Potter, and now even Literary Greats, collection.
