Hardback bound in contemporary half calf with marbled boards. Five raised bands to spine which are richly decorated in gilt. Gilt title band on green morocco. Engraved frontispiece. Light wear to spine edges and corners which are scuffed. Patch of scuffing to top right of front board. Prelims and endpapers are spotted. Frontispiece spotted and offset. Shading to title page. Otherwise clean and bright for the most part. Overall very good condition. Beautifully decorative early edition of the most famous book in the world.
