Published By: Longman, Green And Co 1878 (London)

First Edition. A fascinating tome on all things Fens, it's geology, botany, fauna and history. Beautifully bound in green cloth with gilt and black pictorial to the front and gilt titles to the spine. In overall good condition despite a little surface wear and a little wear to the extremities. Previous owners feint signature to the front free end-paper. Half title page and frontispiece loose. However the binding is still fairly tight. Foxing to the prelims and occasionally throughout although the pages are generally clean. Illustrated with back and white line drawings, diagrams and fold out illustrations/ plans. pp. xxxii + 649. Overall a good copy.
