Ref. 110874   Edition. First Edition

Published By: Bloomsbury 1997 (London)

True first edition in softback of the most sought-after book in the world. Original, unrestored pictorial covers featuring the Wendy Cooling review to the front cover, and 'young wizard' illustration to spine and rear cover. 'Joanne Rowling' and number line 10-1 to copyright page. '1 wand' repeated to page 53. Meets all other points as called for in Errington 1A. Sunning to spine, to top and top-left edge of front cover, to top right of rear cover (small patch). Minor shelf wear. Two small indents to top fore-corner as if made by a pen, although no ink marks. Very minor loss to laminate of both front fore-corners and lower rear fore-corner and top edge of spine. Creasing to corners of rear cover, no cracking. Light toning to text block edge and to the edges of the pages. This is common in this format and can be quite severe; this copy is quite light and uniform. Pages are for the most part nice and bright. A clean copy, free from any inscriptions. No library markings. This copy was bought at the time of release and has remained in the original owner's possession until now having only read it once. A very good copy but for the sunning. Just 5015 copies of the softback true first edition were published. The value of Harry Potter first editions continue to climb and are becoming more difficult to obtain in good condition. An excellent opportunity to invest in this iconic book at a competitive price.
