Illustrated with Sculptures. First Edition. Original full leather binding with gilt titles to the spine. The leather is rubbed and worn with some loss especially to the corners. The leather on the spine has been completely rubbed away leaving the suede underneath, title band remains although the gilt titles have faded with pieces missing to the top. Ink stamp, signature and ex-libris label to the front paste down. There is some cracking to the rear internal hinge although the binding remains fairly tight. Title page in red and black and framed within a double black lined border. Dedication to the nobility to the second page. Preface to the Reader, (5pp). Double page Map of Rutlandshire by Robert Morden. pp.140 +4pp. There is a Farther Additions To The History And Antiquities of the County of Rutland (6pp) loose to the rear of the book. Minor chipping to the corners of the pages with a small piece missing to the top of pages 17 & 38, small piece missing to the base of page 106. Slight repair to the margin of the text to page 92. Pages however are remarkably clean throughout given the age of the book, with just the occasional thumb mark. Overall a good copy.
