First Edition. Book plate to the front paste down once belonging to Sir Mayson M. Beeton, Mrs Isabella's Beeton's son. Beautifully bound in green cloth with gilt decoration to the front and ornate gilt decoration to the spine. The cloth is generally in good condition with just a little rubbing and wear, gilt still bright. All edges of the text block gilt. Pencil notation to the verso of the front free end-paper. Pages generally are very clean with just the occasional spot of foxing. Illustrated with black and white line drawings throughout. pp. viii + 346 + 4. Overall a good copy of a scarce title.
