First Beeton edition. Stated 'tenth edition.' Hardback bound in original purple cloth with blind triple ruled border and pattern to boards. Decorative gilt and lettering to spine. All edges gilt. Illustrated frontispiece. Numerous illustrations throughout. Moderate sunning to edges of boards and spine has been near completely bleached, although gilt is still clear. Light occasional spotting, pages a touch toned, a few creases to edges, otherwise clean and sharp. Overall good condition. xxxi + 384 pp. A nice example of this iconic work.
