An illustrated first edition of Hyperion: A Romance. Beautifully bound in red leather with embossed detail on front and rear cover and stunning marbled endpapers. The covers are in good clean condition with some shelf wear to spine, edges and corners. There is some discolouration to spine and the gilt title is slightly faded but it is still beautifully embossed. All edges of the text block are gilt and still quite bright and clean. Binding tight. Pages are very clean throughout the book, although slightly discoloured due to age. There is a signature from a previous owner on rear endpaper. With numerous illustrations by Birket Foster. pp. xii + 304 + 20. Overall a very good copy with beautiful covers and a perfect gift item.
