First Edition. Hard back. Illustrated dust jacket with the front cover clean and bright despite minor staining along the outer hinge. Original yellow cloth boards with red printed titles to the spine. Previous owners' inscription to the front paste down and to the top of chapter one. Top edge of the text block red and still bright with no marks along the fore edge. Pages are very clean throughout despite the very occasional spot of foxing. Life on "Yankovsky's" Peninsula is recounted here, with its protected deer park, the family's amazing escape from the Bolsheviks, and the Utopian community set up by Yankovsky in Korea.
