Compiled from the Private Diaries of H.R.H. The Prince of Wales. With three maps and thirty seven reproductions of photographs taken by his Royal Highness and others. First Edition Hard Back. Original beige cloth boards with ruled embossed border to the front and gilt titles to the spine. In excellent condition despite minor shelf wear to the top of the spine. Dust jacket with illustration to the front is a little discoloured with pieces missing to the base of the front cover and closed tears to the extremities, chipping to the top and base of the spine. Pages are a little toned with the occasional spot of foxing otherwise clean throughout. Maps present, clean and in good condition. pp. xii + 273. Overall a good copy. At the end of his official visit to Kenya and Uganda in 1928, the prince of Wales went big game hunting in Tanganyika Territory. it was while actually on safari that the King's illness caused his hurried return to England. The Prince in question would later become King Edward VIII who would then abdicate the throne in order to marry Wallis Simpson.
