conundrums, moral maxims and sentences, easy poems, selections from Kirke White
... [et al.] Bound in quarter cloth binding with mustard coloured
boards, with title of the book listing the contents etc. A collection of chap
books bound in the publishers original binding, needing some restoration to the
spine. With rich hand-coloured illustrations running through the book,
some loss to the odd illustration. 122 pages of illustrations some with
more two or three illustrations on one sheet, this fabulous collection
with the following Rhymes, Pat A Cake, Sing A song of Six Pence, London
bridge if Broken Down, The Death and Burial of Cock Robin, The Adventures
of Dame Trot, The history of the House that Jack Built, The Adventures of Jack
and Jill and old Dame gill, The Adventures of Tom The piper's Son, The life and
Death of Jenny Wren, The Pence table in verse, The Juvenile numerator or the
infant's 1st step to Arithmetic, The Butterfly's Ball, A good copy with most
plates in good complete condition the odd illustration with repair, the
binding is a little weak & the spine is detached on one side, this can be
restored, by our binder. We can only locate two copies being sold via
Sotheby's in the 1960's and late 1970's, Only one copy of the third
edition listed in Oxford, with only 12 copies listed in libraries around
the world.
