First Edition Hard Back. Handsomely bound in full tan leather, this copy has been neatly re-backed with a new later leather spine. In overall good condition despite some expected wear. Book plate to the front paste down. Library ink stamp to the top of the first chapter and numbers written in pen to the top of the title page. Pages despite the odd spot of foxing are very clean throughout considering the books age. Illustrated with several plates throughout. Overall a very good copy. Peck's famous work on the history of Stamford in Lincolnshire containing a folding "The Prospect of the Town of Stanford" frontispiece.
