Ref. 116005   Edition. First Edition

Illustrated By: Frontispiece by Graham Robertson

Published By: Methuen And Co. 1908 (London)

First Edition, bound in the original green cloth boards with gilt tooling and beautiful stamped pictorial of a faun to front board. Bottom corners slightly bowed inwards but this is minimal. Spine in lovely condition with bright gilt; slight bashing to head and tail. Two small punctures to spine (see images) each measuring 1mm. Back board in very nice condition. 302 age-toned rough cut pages with gilt to top edge. Previous owner's ink inscription to ffep. Frontispiece by Graham Robertson - features original tissue guard in fantastic condition. Title page has the shadow of extremely subtle discolouration but this does not impact the general look and text is bright and clean. A couple of single foxing marks very early on, but otherwise lovely and clean throughout the rest. Overall, this is a wonderful, attractive edition of a classic that's been well kept with no major damage despite a little expected wear. Would make a fantastic gift or a perfect addition to a shelf of high-value classic tales.  Overall a good example
