Passages From The Diary Of A Late Physician In Two Volumes
Samuel Warren
Ref. 116025 Edition. New Edition
Published By: William Blackwood And Sons 1842 (London)
A new edition in two volumes. Handsomely bound in rich green leather with gilt ruled borders and ornate gilt decoration to the spines. The leather is a little discoloured and worn although generally in good condition. Spines very lightly sunned. All edges of the text block and endpapers marbled. Pages lightly toned although clean throughout with no inscriptions or foxing. Overall a lovely set. Would make an ideal gift. Originally serialised in Blackwood's Magazine this made Samuel Warren literary reputation. The success of the book rested on the sensational and melodramatic atmosphere of the stories and was an inspiration for Edgar Allan Poe.
