Beautifully half bound in rich burgundy leather with burgundy cloth boards. The spines have five raised bands, gilt titles and decoration. Both volumes are in good condition despite a little fading and wear with a little loss of the leather. One marginally larger than the other. Top edge of the text block gilt and still fairly bright while the fore edge remains clean. Internally the bindings are tight with marbled endpapers. Pages slightly toned although clean throughout with no marks, foxing or inscriptions. Beautifully illustrated by John Tenniel. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, pp. 183. Through The Looking Glass, pp. 211. Overall a good set of this much loved children's classis. Would make a lovely gift.
