Ref. 116488   Edition. Mixed

Published By: Methuen & Co. 1909-1910 (London)

A fantastic FULL SET of the petite Methuen edition, with the exception of Dorian Gray being published by Charles Carrington (featuring a publisher's note giving thanks for Methuen's permission to adopt the style and format of the other volumes). Thirteen volumes bound in rich three quarter morocco with gilt titles and tooling to the spine, raised bands, and top edge gilt.
Contents as follows. Dorian Gray (1910), Salome (1910 Second F'cap 8vo Edition), Poems (1909 Ninth Edition), An Ideal Husband (1910 Fourth Edition), A House of Pomegranates (1909 Third Edition), A Woman of No Importance (1910 Fourth Edition), The Importance of Being Earnest (1910 Fourth Edition), Intentions (1909 Fourth Edition), De Profundis (1909 Fourteenth Edition with Additional Matter), The Duchess of Padua (1909 Third Edition), Lord A. Savile's Crime (1909 Fourth Edition), Essays and Lectures (1909 Second Edition), Lady Windemere's Fan (1910 Fourth Edition).
In fantastic uniform condition. Slight loss to corners and spines, general marks commensurate with age to leather. Marbled endpapers. Delicately illustrated bookplates to each volume. Generally a little foxing to ffeps but this does not encroach upon the text. Leather recently buffed. Overall, an attractive collection of Wilde's works published only a few years after his death.
