Hard Back. Beautifully bound in green cloth with gilt and coloured pictorial to the front and rear boards, bevelled edges, vignette and titles to the spine. The gilt to the pictorial to the front is still bright with the colours still vivid despite a little discolouration and some loss to the extremities. The spine has darkened over time with fraying to the base and a small piece missing along the top edge. Some discolouration to the rear. Top edge of the text block gilt and still fairly bright. Internally the binding is still fairly tight despite cracking to the internal hinges. There is a four page example of the book with French text partly stuck to the front endpapers. Bookseller ink stamp to the base of each page. Pages toned especially to the extremities with slight discolouration to the base from pages xii to page 5. Beautifully illustrated with colour and black and white drawings. pp. xvi + 429. Overall a good copy.
