All three volumes of Fleming's much-loved tale. Replete with John Burningham's very charming illustrations in mono and full colour throughout. Printed and bound by Jarrold and Sons Ltd, Norwich. Includes matching dark green slipcase bound in a shade very close to British racing green. Condition is as follows. Vol. I: Jacket in removable protective clear cover with a very small amount of wear to edges. Underneath lie full-colour pictorial boards in very good condition. Jacket not price clipped. Attractive pictorial endpapers. Internally pristine. Vol. II: Much the same - in uniform condition with the addition of a slightly more tanned jacket.Vol. III: A previous spill has caused some damage to the upper edge of the jacket, though this does not compromise the text or images of the cover and remains fairly subtle. Please see images. Price clipped. Pictorial boards are a little worn with slight chipping to two corners. Internally pristine. Overall, this is a set of nicely kept books with volumes I and II in excellent shape. Not only do they display lovely illustrations and the scarce original dust jackets, but they stand as the first edition of one of the most iconic children's tales to originate in the UK.
