'With notes by the Rev. H.H. Milman, prebendary of St. Peters, and rector of St. Margaret's, Westminster.' Intricate gilt detail to spine with five raised bands. Edges of textblock are coloured red-brown. One original hand-coloured, fold-out map to first volume. Condition is as follows. 
Small amount of foxing to Vol. 2, 3, and 5's endpapers. Front board's cloth on volume three is lifting slightly. Condition is relatively uniform throughout the set. Loss and rubbing to leather, particularly to corners which are well-worn, with some intermittent marking to boards. Some loss to heads and tails of all spines.Overall, this is a set which is externally fair but still internally intact with mostly cosmetic outer damage. A decorative and complete set with price adjusted according to condition.
