A beautiful presentation set bound in full tan leather with gilt-ruled borders and a gilt coat of arms to the front. Ornate gilt tooling with green and red title bands to the spines. The leather does show some rubbing and wear especially to the extremities and to the spines' outer hinges and is a little discoloured in places. Top and base of the spines lightly worn especially to the first volume. All edged of the text block and endpapers marbled with presentation label to the front past down on volume One. Internally the binding is tight. There is foxing throughout with the occasional pencil line to the margins of the text however the pages are generally clean. Illustrated with maps with all maps present. Volume I, illustrated with eight maps, pp. ix + 576. Volume II, pp. vi + 500. Volume III, illustrated with four maps, pp. vii + 451. Volume IV, illustrated with three maps, pp. vi + 519.  Overall a good set
