This scarce edition, of the 1st final translation into English by Abraham Hayward, this being the 1st English edition of the final version of Faust, is the trade version which was preceded by the privately printed copy. Bound in half brown calf with buckram boards, gilt decoration to the spines.  preliminary leaf, [v]-lxxxvii, 291, [1] pages, and important edition, and uncommon to find. Rubbing to the corners and the spine gilt is faded, the internal contents are very clean with marble endpapers to the front and rear of the book. A hard-to-find version of Faust.
