Hardback. Beautifully bound in rich green leather with blind embossed detail to the boards, gilt titles, and decoration to the spine. In good condition with the leather still bright and clean however the spine does show some fading with shelf wear to the top and base. The top edge of the text block is gilt and is still bright while the fore edge remains free of any marks. Internally the binding is tight. Pictorial endpapers show no toning or inscriptions. Pages appear unread with no marks, foxing or inscriptions and are beautifully illustrated by Phiz. pp. 803. Overall a lovely copy. Would make an ideal gift.
