First Edition Hardback. The illustrated dustjacket is in good clean condition and shows very little wear, with light shelf wear along the top edge and fading to the spine. Original green cloth boards in excellent condition with bright gilt titles to the spine. All edges of the text block are free of any marks. Previous owners' small sticker and bookplate to the front free endpaper. The pages otherwise are free of any marks or further inscriptions, beautifully illustrated with colour photographic images throughout. pp. x + 518. Overall a very good copy. This copy is heavy and may require extra shipping. Birds Britannica is neither an identification guide or a behavioural study, it concentrates on our social history and on the cultural links between humans and birds.
