hardback Sixth Issue. Bound in the publishers' original brown cloth with delicately coloured paper onlay to the front. While the pictorial is in good condition and intact the cloth has darkened with discolouration to the rear and wear to the spine. Internally the binding is a little loose with cracking to the internal hinges. Front free endpaper is missing. The pages are toned with foxing throughout predominately to the prelims and towards the rear. Beautifully illustrated with 44 colour plates by Margaret W. Tarrant. pp. x + 340 + 4.
